Theoretical Space

It is very important for Acción!MAD to establish a theoretic framework where the various practices within Performance Art can meet. This is why we want to provide theoretical spaces where artists, organizers, critics and public can gather together.

AC La Muga Caula (Girona - Spain)
Thursday 19th November / Matadero Madrid

The International Meeting of Poetic Performance and Performance Art La Muga Caula is born in 2005 from a historical fact: the 40th anniversary of a photograph that documents the visit, in 1965, of Marcel Duchamp to La Caula waterfall. Joan Casellas, performer since the beginning of the nineties, studies the connection of Duchamp and his posthumous work "Etant dones" with La Caula waterfall and, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Duchampian visit to this place, he organizes an artistic meeting of ephemeral and conceptual art to promote Poetic Performance and Performance Art.
